How Diamond Certification Works
From submission to laser inscription — what happens when a lab grades a diamond.
Step by step
1) The stone is submitted anonymously. 2) It is weighed, measured and screened for synthetic origin and treatment. 3) Several graders independently assess colour, clarity and cut. 4) A report is issued and the number is often laser-inscribed on the girdle.
Why independence matters
A report from an independent lab protects you from seller bias. In-house 'certificates' are not a substitute.
